Shangri-La Lost (Revised) by variouslyvaried Shangri-La Lost (Revised) by variouslyvaried
A fragment lingering in the mist and craggy spires, a vanished civilization of ancient immortal beings. Once a vibrant citadel, it's inhabitants were once considered gods among the few primitive men with the ability to perceive it. Its ghostly walls once housed multi-dimentional; poets, philosophers, engineers and artists, but now eternally wanders the ethereal plane a hollow shell of its former glory. An unknown cataclysm brought a short and sharp end to the enlightened utopia, leaving only what is assumed to be the crown stronghold floating, gargantuan halls and libraries precariously attached. It stays aloft by mysterious energies and mechanisms that continued to run far after its denizens have fallen. Left to float aimlessly between worlds and realities, it treasures and history remain out of grasp. Lost forever, it remains an unreachable forgotten dream, but not for those who wish to learn its secrets in earnest.

Nice work, all isolated and abandoned, yet the former glory still shows through a bit.

I am impressed by the textures you did for the moutains.

as a fan of the ancients, i love your approach!
wonderful work, full of mystery and mystique.
i find it impossible to get detail on a small scale.
large canvases are the way to build masterpieces!

Really epic monolithic worship temple! Living in the mountains I can say that it has an extremely isolated feeling and this painting captures the jagged stone feeling perfectly! Great description for a fantastic painting!
